Airbus to Fly Fuel Cell A320 in Berlin
European aircraft manufacturer Airbus will be displaying its A320 research aircraft, which features An onboard hydrogen fuel cell, at this year’s International Berlin Airshow (ILA).
The craft, known as the A320 Fuel Cell Demonstrator, has performed a number of successful flight tests in preparation for the ILA. The craft’s on-board fuel cell delivers over 20 Kilo Watts of electrical power to the electric motor pump. The pump is connected to the hydrolics and allows the pilot to operate the aircraft’s ailerons, rudder and a number of other flight control systems.
The A320 Fuel Cell Demonstrator will be part of the Airbus static display at the ILA from May 27 to May 29.
