Economic Impact on Future Cars?

As the economy implodes will it have an impact on the advancement of future cars?

I see a two fold impact. People will still want to buy "future cars" but cars like the tesla and others in that price range will hurt. Cars like the Air Car or Zenn will be more attractive because they are affordable.

I agree. I think people will have to switch to more affordable alternatives. If there are future cars that are equal in price to others then the future cars will still win out.
