Dodge Viper or Devon GTX Supercar: One is in Production.
Although they had put their Dodge Viper SRT10 on the market for $10 million, a Chrysler LLC press release is announcing that in fact production will continue on the popular vehicle. This is good news.
One of the offers they rejected (for $5.5 million) was from Devon Motorworks, a self-described "California-based industrial design house" and makers of the Devon GTX supercar.
The Devon GTX has been designed by Swedish designer Daniel Paulin (Thunderbird FAB1, Ford Focus C-Max). The company intends to premiere the vehicle at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours later this summer in mid-August. Production for the Devon supercar is optimistically slated for the first quarter of 2010 in Irvine, CA.
Not a single spec was available from the company's web site, raising vaporware concerns, although the GTX has gotten brief coverage from USA Today and Top Gear. Click on the images for larger resolution.
Devon is also pitching its EBikes (above), which they claim achieve 500 MPGe and a top speed of 60 mph.
