The Future is With Electric

It is clear that the major automakers are pushing the electric car. Actually I think "pushing" is an understatement. The Detroit Car show is set to get underway, and it is obvious to any onlooker that the show is half PR and half marketing. The car makers have gone over the top with their emphasis on "green points".

I don't doubt their sincerity; yet, somewhere in the recesses of my mind lurks a feeling that the public might not get the hint. After years of pumping gas into our cars, have we become programmed to burn fuel until we pull our entire civilization down around us?
