Electric Car Prices
There are not many options in the United States if you are in the market for an electric car. And you'd better have a pretty healthy bank account, because they are much more expensive than a comparable gasoline car.
The Nissan Leaf is the most reasonably priced all-electric car. It starts at $32,780.
The Chevrolet Volt is an electric car that has a small gas engine that kicks in when the battery runs out. That sells for $40,280.
Which brings us to the Tesla Roadster. This all-electric car will go from 0-60 in a stunning 3.9 seconds. It will also set you back an equally stunning $109,000, if you can get your hands on one. Fewer than 2,000 have been produced.
Electric cars include a $7,500 federal tax credit to soften the blow for the inflated sticker price.
